Good news from Guam

By Sharisse Lucas, Guam

Greetings from the Guam Christian Church! We are located in Micronesia. We are considered a U.S. territory. We have a military base here that helps to protect our interests along the Pacific. The closest state to us is Hawaii. They are about a seven-hour flight from us. Guam is also known to be where “America’s day begins” as we are multiple hours ahead of the mainland states. The church has near 70 members. Guam is a beautiful tropical island. It rarely ever gets colder than 79 degrees Farenheit (26 degrees Celsius) all year long! There are only two seasons here. They are called the Wet or Dry season. During wet season, it rains pretty much daily but dries up quick, which leaves the island pretty humid. When it is the dry season, there is less rain and we actually get to enjoy a little bit of a refreshing breeze.
The sunsets are sublime, and the waters are pristine!

We have a beautiful story to share: There is a disciple who owns a Boba Tea store on the island. Her manager, MJ, was invited out to church and to study the Bible.

She was eager to get her life right with God. While studying the Bible, MJ invited a friend named May to join in on one of her Bible studies. May was also moved by what God was revealing to her. In August 2022 MJ was baptized and in October 2022 MJ got to baptize her friend May! The church was elated for them both.
