Sep 12, 2025 | By: Women from around the Carolinas and East Georgia Region

Editors Note:

In a powerful move of faith and fellowship, women from the CEG region (Carolinas and East Georgia) have come together to create a heartfelt devotional series designed to uplift, inspire, and deepen spiritual connection. Rooted in scripture and personal testimony, this series speaks directly to the hearts of women seeking to grow closer to God in their everyday lives. Each devotional offers discussion points and life applications as well as encouragement, wisdom, and a reminder that no woman walks her journey alone—she is surrounded by a sisterhood committed to walking in grace, truth, and divine purpose.

Nearer to God

Day 8

Deuteronomy 4:7 NLT
Discussion

As a child, I saw God as real but distant. Verses like Deut. 4:7 helped me see He is near and always with me. Though I sometimes hesitate to bring Him my pain, He is my refuge. In life's busyness I pause to pray and realign with Him. He never leaves, His presence lifts, sustains, and comforts me.

Life Application
● Does knowing God is always near change how you approach prayer?
● What’s one way you can intentionally invite God into your daily
life this week?
● How does it feel to know you are loved, valued, and never alone?

Day 9

Genesis 32:27
Discussion
● hold on to God, even when He feels distant.
● say, “I won’t let You go until we figure this out.”
● seek Him until peace returns. Like Jacob.
● wrestle as long as it takes because His presence is worth it, and you know
He’ll meet you there.

Life Application
● God values my persistence and desire for Him.
● Closeness with God often comes through struggle.
● I can choose to hold on, even when I don’t understand.

Day 10

Ecclesiastes 11:1-6

Discussion

Sometimes my perceived failures can cause me to freeze up and languish in
depression.  This scripture helps me get through the uncertainty of life by refocusing on my powerlessness and encouraging me to work through perceived failures or
disappointments. It encourages me to not give up.

Life Application
● How do you see disappointments or your perceived failures?
● How does God see you through these times?
● How can you structurally or scripturally correct or challenge
despair/depression thinking?

Lyndall Kuch

Day 11

Psalm 116:1-2
Discussion

I am reminded that God hears me—whether in joy or pain. He bends down to listen like a loving parent. This draws me closer, not out of duty, but because I know He cares and responds. My voice matters to Him.

Life Application
● He values my voice and responds with mercy. I am not ignored or
forgotten—He listens with love.
● When I pray more openly and honestly, Knowing He hears me, it encourages me
deeper, and I have more frequent conversations with Him.
● I can choose to start my day by calling on God and end it with gratitude for
His nearness. I can also be more intentional in turning to Him first instead
of as a last resort.

Day 12

Psalm 73:25-26
Discussion

This scripture helps me to recognize that while things in this world can offer
temporary desires, only God can truly meet our nearest needs. Recognizing the
limitations and flaws in earthly things can be disappointing, but it ultimately
reveals how deeply God sustains and satisfies us.

Life Application
● Think about a time in your life when your "flesh" failed. How did that help
you draw nearer to God?
● How can people experience a "failing heart" or "failing faith" in everyday
life?
● How does the phrase "Whom have I in heaven but you" shape your
understanding and relationship of and with God?

Day 13

1 Peter 5: 7
Discussion

This Scripture brings me comfort, peace, and a deep sense of being loved. Caring is an expression of love, and God is love. It makes sense that He not only invites us but urges us to actively cast all anxiety on Him. Holding on my anxiety is a choice just as giving it over to God is a choice.

Life Application
What specific anxieties or burdens am I currently holding onto that I need to intentionally give over to God in prayer? examine your heart, what are you still trying to control?

How does truly believing that God cares for me impact the way I handle stress, fear, and uncertainty in my daily life? how can God’s love shape your responses to life’s challenges?

What practical steps can I take each day to remind myself to cast my anxieties on God instead of carrying them alone? What daily habits, spiritual disciplines, or mindset shifts reinforce trust in God's care?

Day 14

Romans 8:18-26
Discussion

Whatever is occurring in my life good or bad. I know THE FATHER
is there, and I am not alone. I need to look for the good to come
out of all circumstances.

Life Application
● What can i do?

○ when my anxiety is controlling me?
○ When I want to shut down and not get help?
○ When i want to confess, but I don't feel loved?
